5/18 Roadmap Updates

What we've shipped, and what's coming next!

Hello everyone – Christian here from InboxHype. I hope you’ve had a productive week of writing and your fingers were just dancing across the keyboard like a concert pianist! It definitely felt that way for us, as we ended up shipping several new features a week ahead of our goal!

Let's dive right in and explore what we've shipped and what you can look forward to in the near future.

🚢 What we’ve shipped

Paid subscriber access – We had some feedback that some of you were interested in hosting a community on the platform for your paid newsletter subscribers only.

Given the majority of our early access members are using Beehiiv (we love it too!) we prioritized hooking this capability up for this provider first. Next week we will roll out this functionality for operators on ConvertKit and Buttondown.

If you’re using MailerLite (which at the moment, no operator on the platform is) paid subscriber access will take a bit longer to be released. For transparency, we’re having some trouble getting their API to play nicely to make this possible. #codingproblems.

You can find this new feature in your integration dashboard.

Event Calendar – Hosting meetups, virtual events, AMAs, etc. are a huge part of fostering community and building relationships with your members. With that being said, you can share an event calendar with your community and allow your members to register for an event and add it to their calendars.

You can find this new feature in your dashboard under “Events”.

Announcements – Sure, you can always create a discussion post in your community to share an update with your members. However, depending on the frequency of your posts (and your members), messages you want to be sure get noticed may get pushed down your feed. To avoid this, we’ve just launched our Announcements feature – think of them as “pinned” messages that live on your community homepage.

You can find this new feature in your dashboard under “Announcements”.

🗺️ Next on the roadmap

  • Week of May 22nd – Paid subscriber access for newsletters on Buttondown and ConvertKit

  • Week of June 5th – Groups: Think of them like channels for more specific conversations that need better organization, and a more appropriate place than living on the home feed.

  • Week of June 19th – Direct message functionality
